Choosy Beggars
This is a story about kindness backfiring, but it’s also a story that perfectly encapsulates the “choosy beggar” mentality. They say that beggars can’t be choosers, but some beggars don’t seem to get the memo, and they get very choosy indeed.
It is pretty audacious to ask your husband’s boss for a ride to the grocery store, find out that he is sick, insist that he take you anyway, spend two entire hours shopping when you promised you would be quick, and then complain that your unwell, unpaid chauffeur was not in a sparkling mood. Can you blame him?!
