I Scream, You Scream
There are no winners or losers in this next story; I don’t think anyone in it was being unreasonable. It was really nice of this person to decide that they wanted to give this little girl some ice cream. And the little girl wasn’t in the wrong for accepting the ice cream; what kid wouldn’t?
But I also don’t think that the mother was at all unreasonable, as this poster seems to imply there at the end, for being a little concerned about a total stranger giving her kid ice cream. She doesn’t know if he has nefarious intentions, and for that matter, he doesn’t know whether this kid has food sensitivities or health problems that keep her from being allowed to eat ice cream. There are reasons we usually shouldn’t buy food for strange children. It’s not just parents being unreasonable.
