Woodstock ‘69: One of the best musical festivals of all time
The three-day 1969 Woodstock music festival was not only unforgettable but also one of the largest of the 20th century, with attendance surpassing half a million people. Featuring top acts in the industry, such as Jimi Hendrix, the Who, Nash & Young, and more than two dozen others, this event still goes down as one of the classics.
There were so many people at the 600-acre farm that there was hardly room to move. Campers, dancers, and music lovers from all walks of life came together to experience some of the best moments of their lives. The sense of togetherness was palpable, and this festival quickly became known as THE music festival of the 60s. Held during a time when the counterculture was flourishing, and tensions were high in the country, this event provided a much-needed opportunity for people to come together in peace. Although only 50,000 people were expected to attend, almost a million showed up – causing major traffic jams!
