#12: G. D. Ritzy’s
G.D. Ritzy’s is a chain that you might not recognize. The fast-food chain had 150 locations at its peak. It was distinctive because it had a 1950’s diner theme. The chain served all the classic ‘50s food, including homemade ice cream, burgers, and fries. The founder was Graydon Webb, a former Wendy’s exec based in Ohio.
G.D. Ritzy’s liquidated after declaring bankruptcy in 1991. Though franchises remained in Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia, those closed down or were renamed, as they were not part of the corporation. G.D. Ritzy’s was headquartered in Columbus, Ohio before it shut down.
