The Forgotten Generation: Memes and Tweets Depicting the Life of Gen X

As adults, we all recognize an irrational fear or two that we had as kids. For Gen X, one of those collective irrational fears has to be quicksand. Why? Well, it was everywhere! From Gilligan’s Island to Land of the Lost, TV characters were falling into the stuff left and right. It was quite a widespread, precarious predicament. 

Thanks to the internet and meme culture, many Gen X adults quickly realized that they were not alone in their irrational fear of quicksand. Thanks to avid TV-watching in the 70s and 80s, Gen X grew up convinced that they’d meet their tragic demise by sinking into a pit of quicksand, never to be seen again.
