The Forgotten Generation: Memes and Tweets Depicting the Life of Gen X

Childhood has changed a lot since Gen Xers were kids. Many adults now look back on their childhood with fondness and a certain nostalgia for simpler, safer times. Activist Shannon Watts was feeling nostalgic one day and tweeted out her average “day in the life” as a Gen X kid. 

Most Gen Xers would agree with Shannon’s walk down memory lane. So many kids back in the day would go outside to play for hours at a time and only report back home when the sun went down. There were no cell phones, so your parents just had to assume you were fine. Forget helicopter parenting! Let’s bring back the “forgotten generation” style of childhood!
