#2: The Latchkey Kids
Gen X is often described as a generation that had to grow up very quickly. A lot of kids born in the 60s and 70s either lived in a household where their parents were divorced, or they both worked full-time. As a result, plenty of Gen Xers grew up taking care of themselves after school until an adult got home.
This tweet hit pretty hard for the Gen Xers of Twitter. They definitely felt like they had to act like an adult when they were younger. On the upside, they still feel like they’re young at heart. Some of them may be in their 50s now, but they will forever feel like they’re in their 30s. Age is just a number, after all.
