#15: VHS and Chill
Before streaming, before DVDs, there was one analog form of media to rule them all: VHS. For all the youths out there, a VHS tape was a book-sized cassette that people from way back when used to watch movies and record TV programs. Gen X, how old did you feel reading that sentence?
Don’t feel too bad, Gen X, because the kids of today will never know the thrill of taping a much-anticipated show or movie, knowing that you get to keep it forever. If you were lucky enough to tape a program on VHS, you then got to fast-forward through all the commercials in perpetuity. However, the one major risk was your parents or siblings taping over your hard-earned program with something else entirely. Nothing gold can stay.
