#32: Where’s the Kids?
During the dog days of summer, many Gen X kids would leave the house early in the morning, only to return after sunset for a late dinner. Kids being out and about was so common that there was even a 10 pm PSA that would air on TV asking parents, “Do you know where your kids are?” It was a different time, y’all!
Another big difference between then and now was the approach to safety. Back then, Gen X wasn’t too concerned about protecting their noggins while skateboarding, bike riding, or roller skating. Apparently, if anything actually did go wrong, their parents would figure it out eventually and come looking for them. Fun stuff!
