#3: Gender-Specific Job Ads
Help wanted ads in the 1960s often specified whether a job was for a man or a woman, a practice that is certainly frowned upon and even banned today. It was much more typical and encouraged for women to take secretarial or domestic roles, while men more typically pursued leadership roles. There simply isn’t a one-size-fits-all career approach based on gender, and we’re grateful that equality across the board has been a much more common practice in today’s workplace than it was sixty years ago.
