#34: William McKinley
When it comes to politics, it is no secret that it is impossible to please everyone all the time. And 25th president of the United States, William McKinley, would eventually fall victim to this way of thinking. After leading the American people to victory during the Spanish-American War, he was assassinated in 1901.
McKinley enjoyed a stiff drink and a cigar at the end of every day as much as the next guy, but that didn’t help him with the polls when he essentially waged a war on the sale of alcohol illegally to Mount Union College students… After that point, he was pretty much known as the man who stopped all the fun by young people.
