Do you remember your high school teachers? You must have had at least one teacher who left an impression on you. As a former substitute teacher, I can only relate to full-time teaching to an extent. Still, I’ve spent weeks and months in various classrooms around the county, so let me tell you that teachers have a very special place in my heart. They are the single most influential people on this planet, and they don’t get nearly enough respect, appreciation, or pay. To celebrate them the only way we know how, we’d at least like to give them a good laugh! Here are memes that every teacher will appreciate because regardless of where the classroom is, you can pretty much bet that there’s one thing that doesn’t change: kids.
#1: Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace
I once had a teacher who would only take questions during specific intervals. She’d set a timer, let us ask, and we wouldn’t get another chance for ten minutes. It only took her a week to sort out the kids who tended not to look at the paper when it was handed it. After a few years on the job, you learn a few clever strategies.
Still, I’m sure that very same teacher had complaints from parents left and right that she wouldn’t let us ask questions. It wasn’t the truth, the whole truth, or nothing but the truth, yet kids have a way of phrasing things to make it always seem like someone else’s fault. I bet every teacher who had her students after were incredibly thankful, though!
