#37: Yeah, I Find That Hard to Believe
All parents like to think their children are little angels – and no parents like to admit their children might be rude little troublemakers. So, when a teacher calls the parents to tell them their kid did something bad at school, their automatic, go-to reaction would be “he never acts this way at home!” As if somehow, the teacher is responsible for this behavior.

However, that’s almost never the case. Most of the time (99 out of 100), children learn this kind of behavior at home. If they are well-behaved, it comes from the home, and if they are rude or mean to other kids, that’s also something they pick up at home. So, if the teacher says a kid has behavioral issues, it would be smart to check what’s going on at home and how his parents can change that.
