#39: Nobody Cares, Sally
Kids have a way of going off-topic and saying pretty random things. You’re talking about one thing, and their mind wanders off to completely unrelated associations, stuff that they care about, things that are more personal and closely related to them. Like their birthday.
You must have seen that before – or maybe you did that as a kid: someone mentions a date – the history teacher, or perhaps your parents talking about something – and a kid goes on excitedly about how that date is close to their birthday. Of course, their birthday has nothing to do with the topic of conversation, but they can’t help it.
