#20: Harry S. Truman
Not every president has an easy time coming into his role sometimes, there are big shoes to fill and even bigger problems to solve. And for America’s 33rd president, Harry S. Truman had some pretty issues to figure out. Having been vice president to Franklin Roosevelt for just a few weeks before taking on his predecessor’s role, he was in over his head.
Considering Truman had a successful time in office from 1945-1953, it is safe to say his high IQ of 139.8 served him well when he needed the extra push. After Roosevelt’s death, Truman had to quickly understand and take a stand on many foreign affairs. He may have been more popular at the beginning of his service than towards the end; however, he served the country well.
