#37: Ulysses Grant
Even though he might not be the most well-known or recent president in American history, Ulysses Grant has a strong legacy. Ulysses Grant is responsible for leading the Union Armies into victory during the American Civil War. Having defeated the Confederacy, Grant was on a mission to make right in his own country.
After his win, Grant was considered an American hero and was elected to be the 18th president of the United States in 1869 and served until 1877. This gentle yet strong man had an IQ of 130 and used his brain for good. His main influences on American politics and history were congressional reconstruction and removing the remaining ideas and actualizations of slavery throughout the country.
