No Privacy
Raising kids was never an easy job, but we can all agree that the Internet definitely made things harder. Social media can be scary, from trolls to inappropriate content and creepy people; no parent wants their kid exposed to the wrong sides of the Internet. But the line between protecting them and becoming controlling can be very thin.
Knowing what your kid is being exposed to online is crucial and, in many cases, can even save their lives. However, depriving them of online privacy is not as good as we think. When we control their access to their phones and computers, it creates a feeling of mistrust and disrespect, leaving them feeling like we don’t value their privacy.
