Idaho – The Snake River
The Snake River is enormous in the United States, much like the Nile, Ganges, and Amazon Rivers are in other countries. The Snake River may be seen coursing through the Pacific Northwest before flowing into numerous states, including Idaho, where most of the rivers flow.
This photograph was taken in 1860, when a portion of the United States’ most beautiful tributaries was still intact. The bank then served as home to a few different Native American tribes who depended on the river’s vast salmon populations.
